The Witcher 3: Quick Beginner's guide
Below, you'll find some quick tips and tricks for The Witcher 3. They should help if you are starting your adventure with the game for the first time and you are just learning its mechanics. More tips can be found on the Beginner's Guide page of the game guide.
- It is a good idea to prepare for each fight. This is especially important if we have one of the higher difficulty levels. First of all, we should choose the correct sword depending on the type of opponents, and, if possible, review the information about the weaknesses of a given monster in the bestiary. This will allow us to perfectly choose witcher signs, oils or bombs to win the fight.
- Quen witcher sign can effectively protect Geralt. Its regular use is especially important when playing on the highest difficulty level, where the hero can easily take critical damage. Protecting yourself with a shield significantly reduces the chances that we will suddenly die or be on the verge of death.
- Each quest and region of the world have a recommended level of experience. We shouldn't deal with completing quests with too high the suggested level and fighting monsters on a higher level than Geralt. We always find challenges and quests corresponding to the current level of the witcher, which will allow him to develop.
- Geralt has a burden limit. We should avoid exceeding it, as it will limit the mobility of the main character and, at the same time, may hinder effective combat. We can make efforts to raise the limit (e.g. buying saddlebags for a horse) or getting rid of unnecessary loot at traders on an ongoing basis.
- Witcher senses help in exploring the area. We can use them not only in quests that require investigating or following tracks, but also during regular exploration of the area. Activating witcher senses is free and you will reduce the risk of missing a valuable loot or an important interactive object.
