The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Game's length The Witcher 3 Guide

Last update: Tuesday, August 10, 2021

This page has information on how much time you will need to complete The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. We have prepared, e.g. the time needed to complete the main storyline, side quests and secrets, both story expansions, and getting all the trophies.

1 - The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Games length - Appendix - The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt Guide
  1. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is an RPG with huge, open world which holds many secrets waiting for the player to find them all. As expected from a RPG game, you can have fun with it for extended periods of time. The main story of Witcher 3 takes up about 50 hours (provided you only focus on the main plot). However, this estimate only corresponds with the normal difficulty level. If the player choses a higher difficulty level, the game may take longer, or be shorter if the level of difficulty is lowered. The length of the game can also be influenced by the choices we made during the game - some plotlines can be extended while others can get shorter.
  2. Aside from the main storyline, The Witcher 3 offers many side quests as well as numerous secrets and locations that can be discovered - thanks to them you can, e.g. obtain unique artifacts or gear. The amount of content is quite serious, which means that completing all storyline and side quests can take up to 100 hours.
  3. The Witcher 3 has received two extensive story expansions that make the game even longer. Hearts of Stone can take you 10-15 hours while Blood and Wine can require 20-35 hours.
  4. Getting the platinum trophy in The Witcher 3 isn't easy as one of its requirements is to finish the main story on the hardest difficulty level. Other problematic trophies are related to collecting cards or defeating enemies in certain ways. Getting the platinum and the basic trophies (excluding those from the DLCs) should take you at least 100 hours. This value assumes that you want to unlock this trophy during a single playthrough.
