Romance with Broder is available for both genders. You can play as a male or female character – this won't block any of the romance options.
Broder is a Danish warrior encountered when you play through the story line in the East Anglia region, the one about helping Oswald to be chosen as the king of this land.
The first confrontation with Brother and his companion Brither will take place during the supper (main quest Kingmaker). The fight will start and you will have to beat the Danes in a fistfight. Fortunately, this fight will not lead to anyone's death. It will also not affect your chances to romance Broder.
For a very long time nothing will happen when it comes to establishing closer relations with the Dane. You will have to complete subsequen main quests in New Anglia until you reach the final task of this area - Wedding Horns, related to Oswald's wedding.
Eivor can encounter various characters invited to the wedding and engage in optional activities with them. You can also meet Oswald himself and join him in a drinking competition, which is a mini-rhythmic game. It doesn't matter whether you win or lose the competition, or whether you decide to bet your own silver.
Approach the table with food for the wedding guests. This will initiate another conversation with Broder.
During the new conversation, Broder will start flirting aggressively with Eivor. Choose a dialog option marked with the heart icon to respond to his advances.
After another exchange of views, confirm that you want to go with Broder to a more secluded place.
You can watch a kissing scene with Broder. After it is over, you will return to the wedding grounds.
Just to remind, the man you kissed with is Broder - select the second dialogue option from the list.
You can meet Broder once again in the final part of the task, specifically when leaving New Anglia. Broder stays in front of the main building of the settlement and you can say goodbye to him.
