Last update: Thursday, December 10, 2020

On this page of the Cyberpunk 2077 guide, we answer the question if it is possible to play in TPP (third-person perspective). We also inform whether there are other ways to see your character during the game (due to the game being only in FPP).

Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't allow you to switch to TPP freely - Cyberpunk 2077: TPP, looking at V - Appendix - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't allow you to switch to TPP freely. You play the majority of the game in the first person perspective, including the cut-scenes.

The camera changes to TPP automatically when you get in a vehicle. By pressing Q (PC version), you can select one of the two cameras located behind the vehicle. Interestingly, it is also possible to drive a vehicle in the FPP.

You can activate Photo Mode (press N key in the PC version) to see your character - Cyberpunk 2077: TPP, looking at V - Appendix - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

You can activate Photo Mode (press N key in the PC version) to see your character. In this mode, you can control the camera to watch the hero from all sides. The photo mode has different filters, lets you change the depth of field or modify the field of view. You can also hide the whole interface when taking a photo.

The hero's model appears every time you open the inventory window - Cyberpunk 2077: TPP, looking at V - Appendix - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

The hero's model appears every time you open the inventory window. You can see how different clothes and armor elements will look on your character.

Another way to see your hero is to stand in front of a mirror - Cyberpunk 2077: TPP, looking at V - Appendix - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Another way to see your hero is to stand in front of a mirror. The interesting thing is that the mirrors are inactive by default. You can see your reflection after interacting with them.

Additional note - Another way to not use the FPP is when you are analyzing braindance recordings - Cyberpunk 2077: TPP, looking at V - Appendix - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

Additional note - Another way to not use the FPP is when you are analyzing braindance recordings. V does not appear on them (these recordings always belong to other people) and the silhouettes of the characters are distorted. However, after entering the edit mode, you will be able to freely manipulate the camera.
