AC Odyssey: How to get Engravings and how to apply them to weapons and armor? Assassin's Creed Odyssey Guide and Walkthrough
Last update: Thursday, December 22, 2022
Engravings are modifiers in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey that you can apply (for a fee) to your weapons and armor. This increases the statistics of these items and gives them new features. On this page you will find information on how to unlock new engravings, where to browse the list of engravings and how to apply engravings on weapons and armor.
Engraving List
You can view your engraving list at any time during the game. To do this, you must go to the hero's inventory and select the Engraving List button marked in the picture above.
The game will display in a new menu a list of already unlocked engravings, as well as those you haven't obtained yet. By hovering the cursor over an engraving, you can see its current requirements. The most common requirements for unlocking new engravings are:
- Promotion to a higher level of experience. New experience level equals a new engraving.
- Promotion and progress in main storyline.
- Completing challenges. Challenges requirements may include, for example, defeating a total of 50 enemies using a specific weapon.
Engraving levels
Each engraving has several levels. After unlocking the first level, you must meet the requirements for the second level, etc. Improving engraving improves its stats bonuses.
Engraving strengths can be varied, such as increasing damage from certain attacks, accelerating adrenaline loading, or increasing armor value.
Applying engraving to weapons
You can apply engraving to weapons and armor at any blacksmith. Once you have reached the blacksmith, select Engrave.
After going to the next blacksmith's menu, select the weapon or armour you want to upgrade, and then the engraving from among the available ones. Each engraving operation is chargeable - you have to sacrifice some of your raw materials and spend some gold. Try to upgrade only the best weapons and armor you have and those you want to stay with for a longer time (i.e. advance to the next level as the main hero progresses).
