Visit all Shrines
Each Shrine consists of several puzzles to solve. The first three Shrines you visit serve as tutorials for Link's new powers - you will learn how to move objects, combine them, or set them in motion.
Upon reaching the altar in a Shrine, you will receive the Light of Blessing. When you collect 4 Lights of Blessing, you can exchange them for an extra heart or increase Link's stamina bar.
In each Shrine you will also find a chest with a rare item. Shrines have another important role. After completing all the puzzles and obtaining the Light of Blessing, the Shrine will become a fast travel point. From now on, you will be able to move to that Shrine at any time.
Pay attention to weather conditions
In the lower right corner of the screen, next to the minimap, you will find information about the temperature. If the pointer is in the blue field, it means that your character is freezing. You will lose half of your heart every few seconds. The same situation will occur when you are in a land with hot temperature. Link will start losing health points from heat.
The best way to deal with harsh weather conditions is to wear the right clothes. You can find the outfits in chests or buy them in stores. They provide permanent protection against cold or heat. The second, temporary solution to dealing with too low or too high temperature is to eat the right foods.
Try to cook any dish and add Spicy Peeper to get food that boosts your frost resistance. When you add Chillshroom to a dish, you'll get food that boosts heat resistance.
Try new recipes
In the game you will find many lit campfires and hearths that you will be able to use right away. Try to combine the collected ingredients and see what you can cook. When you combine mushrooms with other products, you will get a dish that replenishes your stamina bar.
You can also prepare potions at a bonfire. The main ingredients of potions are insects or small amphibians and reptiles. Cooked with the appropriate ingredient, they increase movement speed, add an attack bonus, or make Link glow in the dark. A potion made with Sticky Lizard will help you to climb slippery walls.
Use every Device Dispenser
You will find the first Device Dispenser on the first island - where you can draw Zonai devices. After throwing parts of defeated robots into it, you will receive items that you can place in your backpack. Throw in the maximum number of parts you can carry in your hands at once, i.e. 5 pieces. Additional devices will then fly out of the device, allowing you to quickly collect a huge amount of flamethrowers, platforms, windmills, etc. It is worth noting, however, that you will not receive extra devices every time.
When you find a Device Dispenser, see what you can draw from it. Each newly discovered Device Dispenser is a chance to get new devices.
Visit Purah and unlock the glider
When you leave Great Sky Island and reach the kingdom of Hyrule, resist the temptation to explore the entire huge map right away. Instead, follow the mission marker and visit your old friend - scientist Purah. The girl will give you a short quest, after which you will unlock the first Skyview Tower and the glider. This will make it easier for you to discover the map and make traveling faster. Each Skyview Tower also serves as a fast travel point.
Search the location of the next objective well
Markers on the map do not always show the exact place where the next mission objective is. Often it's just for the entrance to a cave or building where you have to find another passage or a person to talk to. If you still have trouble finding your objective, check out the full description of the quest in the Adventure Log. Also, try to talk to the NPCs you meet, maybe they'll tell you what's happening in the area.
Rocket and glider are perfect for traveling fast
Link's new powers have a ton of uses. Fuse will attach any item to a weapon or shield. In this way, you can get, for example, a shield with a flamethrower. A sword with a stone attached will serve as a mining tool or a ram that can destroy weak points on walls.
After attaching the rocket to a shield, you will get a very useful device. You will then be able to fly high into the air, open the glider and quickly get to the top of the mountain or even fly from the ground to the sky islands.
It is worth noting that the rocket can only be used once and its Energy Cell has limited power. However, you can recharge the battery during the flight using Zonai Charge. Large Zonai Charge temporarily prevents battery power loss.
Saving the Energy Cell will allow you to fly longer
When you take off for the first time on a newly built flying platform, you will notice that the Energy Cell, i.e. your battery, gets depleted at an alarmingly fast pace. You can charge all Zonai devices while using them with Zonai Charges.
However, do not forget that you can turn the machine off and on again at any time. Even a fraction of a second can be enough to save valuable energy. If your flying platform descends too quickly, turn it back on and stand on its tail.
While exploring the map, you will find many items that add more energy to the Energy Cell. You will also discover new devices that help in controling vehicles.
