Last update: Thursday, January 7, 2021

Exploration of the Night City is one of the basic activities in Cyberpunk 2077. Even if you are not a fan of exploring locations, you will be forced to move around the map in order to reach your objective. On this tutorial page, you will learn about the most important aspects of the game world: regions, movement, object icons, quick scanning of the environment, and searching for secrets.

Regions

The world in the game has been divided into seven different regions - Cyberpunk 2077: Exploration - Basics - Cyberpunk 2077 Guide

The world in the game has been divided into seven different regions. The Night City includes the City Center, Watson, Pacifica, Heywood, Westbrook, and Santo Domingo districts. Outside the city, you will visit a region called Badlands, a dangerous land inhabited by the Nomads.

Cyberpunk 2077 story will lead you through all regions, but access to each region is available from the beginning of the game (after the prologue). The map has no limits - you can visit all regions right away. Remember, however, that there is no level scaling in the game. This means that you can get to a location where enemies will be too strong for your current level.

The first time you enter a given region, you will unlock the map of it with its icon marks - that way, you will know the location of traders, various services, or quest places. After discovering a new region, you will also receive a phone call from the local fixer - a person who commissions jobs for mercenaries. This will give you access to the next side missions.
