Regular improvement of the gang headquarters, which the main hero Arthur Morgan is a part of, is an important game element in Red Dead Redemption 2, because this way you can facilitate further gameplay. On this page we have included information on how to upgrade the gang camp and what is the purpose of financing further improvements of the camp.
The first fully fledged gang camp becomes the one on the hill at Horseshoe Overlook. It is presented at the end of the first chapter of the game's main storyline, when the caravan arrives to Overlook location.
Upgrading the gang's headquarters is initially blocked. In order to be able to improve the camp site, you must join the main mission of Money Lending and Other Sins, which is commissioned by the Leopold Strauss residing in this location.
In the initial parts of this mission, Arthur must recover the debt from the three persons indicated by Strauss. After you visit the indicated persons and recover the cash, you must return to the camp and put the money in the box shown in the picture. This box was already available before, but at the time it was not yet used for any specific purpose. You can put all jewellery, jewels and money to the stash. All of this is used to finance improvements to the camp.
To order upgrades, you must open the Ledger next to the stash chest. On the following pages of the book you will find the improvements that can be purchased. Only basic improvements are available from the very beginning. Buying a basic upgrade can unlock a higher level upgrade. It is usually more expensive, but it offers even better profits.
Priority should be given to the Lodging tab in the register. Purchase a Dutch tent upgrade for (First Things First) $220 and then a newly unlocked travel planning map (Next in Line) for $325. By purchasing both of these upgrades, you will be able to unlock the fast travel option from the camp by interacting with a map hanging near Arthur's bed.
You can buy any other improvements according to your own preferences, but we recommend that you take an interest in, for example, projects that will unlock the possibility of replenishing ammunition or medication stocks in the camp. More information about the gang camp can be found in other chapters of our guide.
