This page of the guide to Hogwarts Legacy has a walkthrough for the Sweeping the Competition side quest. The walkthrough explains when you can start the second broom upgrade quest and how to complete the time trial in southern Hogwarts (Irondale).
- Unlocking the quest
- Rewards for completing the quest
- Purchase a broom enhancement from Albie Weekes
- Speak with Imelda Reyes
- Place in the Hogwarts South Broom trial
- Return to Albie Weekes
Unlocking the quest
If you've completed Imelda Reyes' first race, Albie should send you a message after completing Percival Rackham's Trial main quest.
Once again visit the Spinwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade.
Rewards for completing the quest
- XP;
- Broom Upgrade - it will allow you to fly even faster;
- The Sky is the Limit side quest unlocked.
Purchase a broom enhancement from Albie Weekes
Open the trade window and purchase the broom upgrade for 1,000 gold. It will be installed automatically.
Speak with Imelda Reyes
You'll learn you can try the upgrade out in a time trial. Imelda Reyes can be found near Irondale and the easiest way to get there is to fly on the broom.
During the conversation, say that you want to join the race.
Place in the Hogwarts South Broom trial
The assumptions are identical to the previous quest - you have to fly through the rings and reach the finish line in less than 2 minutes and 26 seconds. A flight without mistakes should take about 2 minutes.
Remember not to avoid the rings (you will receive time penalties for doing so), use the speed boost (L2/LT) and fly through the yellow spheres to charge the boost bar faster. Also, be careful not to hit any trees.
Talk to Imelda again. You can repeat the trial, and after completing it, check the list of the best players (you don't have to be 1st).
Return to Albie Weekes
Return to the broom shop in Hogsmeade to share your flight experience with Weekes.
You won't get the second broom upgrade right away. You'll have to wait until you receive a message from Albie (owl mail). This will also start the last quest related to upgrading the broom.
