When you pass through Red Dead Redemption 2 story, the main character may come across closed containers. It's worth being interested in them, as they can hide large amounts of cash, jewelry or other valuable items. On this page we will explain how to open a closed chest and how to open a safe in RDR2.
You can find a closed chest, e.g. after an attack on a stagecoach.
You can try to open a mailbox using e.g. throwing objects, but the best and most convenient solution is to get a Lock Breaker as early as possible. You can buy Lock Breakers from any shopkeeper - they can be found in different parts of the game world, e.g. Rhodes or Saint Denis.
Once you have found the fence, go to the trade window. You will find the Lock Breaker on the list of the items and it should cost about 22 dollars. Lock Breaker is a permanent improvement of hero's equipment. It is not going to be used up and lasts for the whole game.
You can find a safe e.g. after reaching the place of an accidental meeting or while exploring some carefully guarded locations. You cannot use a Lock Breaker to open it. Instead, use dynamite. The stick must land and explode right next to the safe.
Note - It is a good idea to replenish your dynamite reserves regularly so that you can always break into any newly found safe.
